In my years of litigating divorce and custody cases in Snohomish County, I am often told the same story.

Late at night, a parent is losing sleep worrying about one of the legal aspects their family law case. To try and find some ground, they go online and do some Google searches to get information. By the time they have finished reading, they do not feel better - they feel worse. The information is conflicting, confusing, and does not provide the immediate guidance they need.

The purpose of this blog is to reach those sleepless folks, to hopefully share the lessons I impart to my clients as we get through their cases. I have seen these lessons dramatically improve the quality of my clients' lives, and I sincerely hope they do the same for you.

About me:

As for me, I have been a practicing lawyer since 2007. My practice has always involved helping people in crisis, first as a criminal litigator, and later in civil courtrooms. In family law, I found a real passion because I could very directly help people find their way to better, healthier lives. 

​

I am a partner at Deno Millikan, PLLC in Everett, but that is not my most important job. My most important roles are husband and father. I have been with my wife for nearly twenty years, and we have a son together. We live with two Norwegian forest cats. 

​

When I am not practicing law, I train in traditional Japanese marital arts, cook, hike, and (very poorly) play the guitar.
